Internet usage and Maslows hierachy

Tags:
Maslows hiearchy of needs, a theory that You learned in school, was stating that the most important things in live is food and warmth. On the top things like career. How does this fit in to the mordern society. Where does Internet usage come in and what steeres this. In China there is over 210000 internetusers, just the same number as in US. But in penetration of the country it is barely 16%, where US have over 70 % penetration. Sweden is a little bit ahead of US with 77 %. This is fact from the Internet World Stats . Africa in common has a penetration of 5.3 %, and Asia 13.7 %. What can we leard here? The internet usage can be used to measure the wealth of a country, and it is placed in the topmost half of the hiearchy. The poorer country the less internetusers. For the human it is almost hte same. Food, of course comes ahead of computers. Deter is thou strage figures in the statistics. Somalia one of the worlds poorest countries, with 9.7 mil. inhabitans has 94000 internetusers. Liberia has 1000. One other refection is that these countries can be a enormous market for IT- industrie. When the countries has reached a step further due to Maslow. China is there and, but still has a big share left to go with 15.9 %. There is over 1 bil. people i China without internet. And IBM, probably without a PC, and software. Notes has 150 milj users, how about getting som from China or Africa, 5 % from China is a substatial raise.

Gravatar Image1 - what has happened to human values? these results give food for thought...but imagine a simple script of a movie-catastrophy: infrastructure is destroyed, everything vanishes...would you think of some online service or of the possibility to warm yourself up or to feed your family? this will place everything in its places.

Gravatar Image2 - Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it's a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from.

Gravatar Image3 - A little government and a little luck are necessary in life, but only a fool trusts either of them.

Gravatar Image5 - Awesome comment, dude. Almost as dumb as this one. Almost.

Gravatar Image6 - Skill without imagination is craftsmanship and gives us many useful objects such as wickerwork picnic baskets. Imagination without skill gives us modern art.
